This lovely 17th century flint farmhouse looks out from a sheltered hillside, over the gentle slopes of the Blackdown Hills towards the River Culm. Down a secluded drive, POUNDS is set in 6 acres of beautiful mature gardens, orchards and a meadow. Easily accessible from M5/A303. Enjoy a swim when you arrive in the outdoor heated pool in summer, or if it is chilly warm up beside the log fire. Delicious breakfasts with homemade preserves, local farm reared produce and eggs from your hosts’ flock of hens and geese. Fishing, tennis and riding available nearby. Directions

From M5 southbound leave at junction 26. Take the first exit, and then almost immediately, at the T-junction, turn right. This lane becomes narrow so take care. At the next T- junction turn left, to Hemyock. Climb the hill to the top, and at the crossroads, turn right. Take the next left to Hemyock, and drop down into the village. Follow the road right through the village, until you reach a cream and green rectangular Victorian water pump. Beyond this is the pub and church. Turn left just before the pump. Carry on up the hill, out of the village, for 4 tenths of a mile, until the road narrows and you reach a nasty bend. Our driveway is on the right, and is lined with fir trees. The wooden sign for our house, Pounds, is in the hedge and another is on the field gate.
