With so much happening in Cornwall this summer the choice is vast, so we have picked a selection of events to whet your interest….
In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the World Heritage Site, a giant mechanical ‘Man-Engine’ in the form of a Cornish Miner has been engineered at a secret location in Cornwall. The ‘Man-Engine’, standing at over 10m tall (the equivalent of 2 ½ double decker buses!) is set to journey over 130 miles in 2 weeks, starting at Tavistock, West Devon and ending its journey at Geevor Tin Mine at Pendeen, on the far west of Cornwall, with special events planned along the way. The largest puppet ever made in Britain, a sight to behold!
The beautiful church in St Endellion, North Cornwall provides the unique setting for this internationally renowned music festival, where some of the most highly acclaimed soloists and musicians in the UK, accompanied by a symphony orchestra and chorus of 75, come together to perform a series of concerts ranging from the classics to music from Broadway.
Enjoy the spectacle and atmosphere at what has become the largest sailing regatta in the South West of the country with 450 yachts racing over 8 days together with a great array of events and entertainment onshore.
The 20th Annual Classic Car Show and Country Fayre is being held in the beautiful setting of Mount Edgcumbe Country Park, Cremyll in SE Cornwall, with a magnificent display of Classic, American, kit cars and military vehicles, together with a craft fayre, stalls and refreshments, all proceeds to go to Cornwall Hospice Care and the Friends of Mount Edgcumbe Country Park.
For all you fish foodies out there, join in the celebration in and around the harbour in Newlyn, just West of Penzance, where you can sample the delights of the best seafood, pick up tips from top local chefs, soak up the atmosphere with lots happening on the water, boats you can board, gig racing and RNLI displays.
