For Mother Nature, springtime has already been blooming and sprouting for weeks. Following such a mild start to the year, our woodlands are set to be transformed with early displays of swathes of colour with the arrival of the beautiful dainty bluebell, heralding a welcome sign of spring. It is no surprise that the bluebell has been voted Britain’s favourite flower and with access to some wonderful woodlands where bluebells are known to thrive, it’s a great opportunity to enjoy the peace and serenity of a walk amongst them and admire the wonder of nature.
There may be a bluebell wood near you, but for ideas of where to go, check out:-
The Woodland Trust, which records many countryside observations and details has said new records have been set for the arrivals of bluebells. Their scheme, called Nature’s Calendar, has recorded many more locations with bluebells blooming in 2017.
If you enjoy watching the seasons change, you can also help the Woodland Trust and become a Nature’s Calendar recorder.
And if you are looking for a spring-time break away, why not stay in one of our superb B&Bs, all personally inspected and selected for their warm welcome by a member of our team.
