Following 3 months of enforced hibernation the UK is opening up again for visitors to stay. The Government has announced that B&B Hosts, Self-Catering Cottage owners, Hotels and other accommodation suppliers can open again.
This should be from 4th July for England, 15th July in Scotland and hopefully from mid-July for Wales.
All the B&B Hosts have been asked to implement the strict Covid-19 cleaning measures requested before opening. This should remove the possibility of infection during your stay.
VisitBritain and the AA are encouraging the Hosts to do a Risk Assessment to obtain an official kite mark or Accreditation to indicate this.
Please remember that both B&Bs and Cottages, have a lower footfall of visitors compared to Hotels. This again reduces the risk of an infection.
A list of Events and Tourist Attractions are also listed on the website. Although some of these might still be postponed or cancelled until Lockdown is completely released. Please check the Attraction’s website for their latest information.
Many B&Bs source their produce from local businesses. By planning a trip to stay in a B&B you may often be supporting the local economy as well as experiencing a very enjoyable, well-deserved holiday.
Happy and safe travelling. Have a good time.
