Nearest town or village: Talgarth
Directions: By Road; A40 from Abergavenny, through Crickhowell and then turn right onto the A479 to Builth Wells. Follow the road for approx 10 miles until you reach a large roundabout. Take the third exit to Talgarth town centre and in the town centre turn right up the hill, keeping the Tower hotel on your left. Follow that road for approximately 1 mile, bearing right at the forks in the road. Tegfan Garden Suite is on the left hand side, the turning after The Granary.
Tegfan Garden Suite is located within the Talgarth Conservation Area and is situated 1.5 miles from Bronllys Castle and walking distance from Pwll-y-Wrach Nature Reserve, with a 30ft waterfall and pond known as Pwll-y-Wrach the Witches Pond. Facing Mynydd Troed, Tegfan nestles peacefully in the foot hills of the Black Mountains, within the Talgarth Conservation Area. Brecon is just a 15-minute drive with regular farmers markets and local places of interest and culture, including the Grade 1 listed Brecon Cathedral. Also in Brecon is Theatr Brycheiniog, situated on the banks of the canal and offering a wide variety of shows. Main annual events include The Brecon Jazz Festival and Brecon Show both in August. Brecon is the starting/end point of the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal, with canal boat cruises or gentle tow path walks. Brecon has a proud military history and is host to the the South Wales Borderer’s museum, famous for its Zulu war room. The local area offers endless options for being at one with nature. Visit Llangorse lake (the largest natural lake in Wales), explore Dan-yr-Ogof caves, climb the summit of southern Britain's highest mountain Pen-Y-Fan, embrace the history of 11th century Llanthony Priory or brave The Big Pit at the Blaenavon World Heritage Site.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The accommodation is cozy, stylish and very clean. Helen is a fantastic host. A welcome basket and personalised welcome wall hanging were very nice gestures. The location is very good. Helen provided lots of information about the local area and possible places to visit. Perfect for star gazing on a clear night! Highly recommended.
We stayed at this wonderful place for only 3 nights but could have stayed much longer. The room was everything we wanted, a lovely open plan space with everything you would want in a self catering let. Helen was so helpful and provided everything needed from coffee machine, toaster and a super baskets of lovely home made goodies which provided us with breakfast for the whole time. A lovely open space to wake up to and even a fire pit which would be a super way to spend the evening sitting round and star gazing. Thank you and hope to be back
Oh, what a treat our stay at Tegfan Garden Suite was! Not only was the cottage tastefully designed with a wonderfully outfitted kitchen but our hosts Helen and John were exceptional as well.
We arrived for our three night stay without any agenda. Helen gave us two well thought out days of activities with excellent dining suggestions as well. We didn’t have to plan a thing.
The welsh products provided were delicious, delightfully including the products made by Helen. Breakfast from the provisions was a treat.
We were lucky enough to be there during lambing season. My husband loves lamb and bought some chops from the local butcher (who has a very nice selections of cheese, pies, olive oils, etc. in addition to meat). John arranged for us to use a fire pit including logs to linger outside after we barbecued the chops. It was lovely.
I can’t imagine there would have been anywhere nicer to stay and enjoy the Brecon Beacons area.
Fantastic get away. A little luxury after great days exploring the Brecon Beacons. Helen the host was so friendly nothing was too much trouble.The extra attention to detail and personal attention to all guests dietary needs was so appreciated. Thank you , we will be back .
