THE KNOWE is in a magical spot in the Bewcastle Valley with stunning views of the fells, situated on the fringe of the Kielder Dark Sky Park.  Set in 40 acres with a Shetland Pony stud, small flock of sheep and extensive vegetable garden.  The route 10 cycle route is nearby and there are several quiet walks within the valley giving the opportunity for bird watching or simply enjoying this lovely unspoilt area. A good base to explore Hadrian’s Wall and the Scottish Borders.  The B&B suite has been completely renovated to a high standard and comprises of a large bedroom (superking or twin on request) with a spacious shower room, kitchenette, a large comfortable sitting room with a flat screen T.V. The sofa turns into a comfortable double bed (additional charge). The accommodation is all on one level with just three steps from the patio up to the private entrance. We provide a generous continental style breakfast which you can enjoy at your leisure. Discounts for stays of 3 nights or more and singles welcome at £70.00 per person.

Directions & Map

Nearest town or village: Roadhead

Our postcode CA6 6PG covers multiple properties within the vicinity. This will take you to either the Church or the white house after the church on the corner, not directly to The Knowe. Follow your Sat Nav initially, but after the signpost saying left for “Blackpoole Gate ½ mile” you will come down the hill and over a stone bridge, take the first right before the church signposted “The Knowe”. Follow this road over the cattle grid, along the river, over the bridge, past our neighbour’s farm yard and up the hill following the road round to the right. We are up the hill after the wooden gate.
