Scotland
It maybe famous for New Year Celebrations But that doesn’t mean that they leave out Christmas – No not at all!!
Edinburgh celebrates Christmas Big-time!
Light Night takes place on 17 Nov- a fantastic light show featuring choirs from all over Scotland, culminating in a firework display to mark the official switching on of Edinburgh’s festive lights.
Visit the Street of Light (30 Nov – 24 Dec) – illuminating the Royal Mile from the City Chambers to the Tron Kirk- a spectacular display of 26 arches of 60,000 lights synchronised to music or the traditional Christmas Market at East Princes Street.
Glasgow is a special place to be in the lead up to Christmas. The Christmas Markets take place in George Square and St Enoch Square.

Just such a terrific sight – worth a visit!
The Style Mile Christmas Carnival (24 Nov) – a magical procession of festive characters and street performers and what a sight…the annual Glasgow Santa Dash (8 Dec) – thousands of Santa’s on a festive 5K run for charity!
So Scotland can be a terrific place to get everyone into the festive spirit and remember if you time it right you could make a real break of it and stay over for the New Year celebrations – however beware you may need another break just to get over all that celebrating!!! Enjoy.
